As a key member, you'll ensure precise code assignment for various outpatient services, contributing to the overall revenue cycle efficiency.
Job SummaryAs part of our outpatient coding team, you will:
- Verify accuracy of assigned CPT codes for complex procedures.
- Ensure diagnosis coding accuracy for error-prone encounters.
- Validate certain discharge dispositions.
- Review charge and procedure mismatches.
- Collaborate with billing, revenue integrity, etc.
, to resolve alerts/edits.
- Combine codes for payment window encounters.
- Assist in resolving accounts with HIM/Coding unbilled hold reasons.
Qualifications- Undergraduate degree in HIM/HIT (Associate's or Bachelor's) required.
- Minimum 1 year hospital outpatient coding and auditing experience.
- RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification preferred.
- Payer-focused, with experience in quality edits and addressing customer complaints.
Preferred Experience- Ambulatory or hospital acute care coding with same day surgeries and outpatient observation.
- Expertise in wound care, interventional radiology, ED, and observation coding.
- Proficiency in technology and experience with multi-systems.
- Preferred experience in multi-facility or larger hospitals.
Location RequirementCandidates must live a minimum of 60 miles within an HCA facility.
Not accepting candidates residing in California, Colorado, Hawaii, or New York.
